Dr. Ed Tori is the Director of the Influence Center at one of the largest health systems on the East Coast. He assists physicians, nurses, mid-levels, executives, administrators and all who work in healthcare to learn the science of persuasion for better communication and improved care delivery/connection.
He conducts “Influence Consults” that touch nearly every aspect of healthcare – Such consults have already reached diverse healthcare domains including resident recruitment, patient adherence, philanthropic efforts, patient education, professional op-ed writing, bedside manner, conflict management, pediatric obesity, smoking cessation and the opening of new healthcare delivery facilities.
In addition to this role, he served as the Associate Director for the Institute for Innovation, where he also served as the Director of Presence.
Dr. Tori provides consulting on influence, social media, online marketing and mobile app and game development. He runs several influence, productivity, humor and healthcare training websites. A father of six, he is publishing a series of children’s books and he runs his own mobile game company.
From 2003 through 2011, Dr. Tori was the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Step-Down Unit at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD where he was responsible for running perioperative cardiac services.
Ed is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He completed his Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine followed by a residency in internal medicine at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital where he was both Chief Resident and Resident of the Year. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies from Cornell University.
He is also a certified hypnotist and hypnotherapist with training in traditional hypnotherapy, Ericksonian hypnotherapy, and conversational hypnotherapy.
